Recreational Vehicles have holding tanks for the water that is used. The water for the showers, sinks, dishwashers and laundry go into the gray water tank and the water for the toilets along with all that waste goes into a sewer tank. Generally, this does not cause any issues, but sometimes it can cause problems and odor and therefore you need to monitor this situation, dump at a specified RV dump as needed and take care of odors as they occur.
The best thing I have found to eliminate odor in the sewer water holding tank is the Thetford Aqua-Kem RV products. They come in granulars, liquids or dissolvable tablets. You can have your choice of also non-formaldehyde odor control in Aqua-Kem Green and both are bio-degradable too. These products in the 64 ounce bottle last a very long time, over a year in fact even if you are dry camping full-time. Another product they make is Aqua Zyme, which actually eats the waste and that is a very nice idea too.
For gray water odor, which can occur if you allow your gray water holding tank to fill up too much or if it gets extremely hot where you are; I use Thetford Gray Water Odor Control in the 20 ounce bottle. I bought some about a year ago and the bottle is just under half full still. For the serious RVer odor elimination is an important consideration and I hope you will consider all this in 2006.

Travel insurance is a legally enforceable assurance of financial compensation for losses incurred in the course of travel provided the losses have resulted from one or more of the risks specified in the travel insurance policy. Group travel insurance (GTI) is travel insurance for a group of people travelling together.
WHO CAN CLAIM: Claims under GTI can be made only by those members of the group for whom the specified risks have materialized in the course of the travel, and not by all members. Of course, if the risk/s have materialized for all the members, then the claim can be made by all of them.
WHEN YOU CAN CLAIM: You can make a claim under GTI only if one or more risks have actually materialized. It is important to remember that claims must be formally made within ONE MONTH of the end of the travel covered under the GTI.
HOW YOU CAN CLAIM: Though different insurers have different claim procedures, there are certain general steps you must take to make your claim irrespective of your insurer is. The general steps are as follows:
STEP 1: Immediately note down on paper, or key into you laptop computer, details of the events - such as the date and time of the event, details of the local police complaint lodged, if any, and so on. Also, describe the event roughly. This will be useful when you draft your formal claim.
STEP 2: Send an email, or make a phone call, to your insurer informing them of the event, and follow their advice. Email or phone call however usually has to be backed up by a formal claim on paper and a completed claim form given by the insurer. You can do this - as mentioned above - within ONE MONTH of the completion of the travel.
STEP 3: Answer all queries asked by the insurer on phone, by email, in the claim form, or by any other medium. Give accurate and consistent answers.
STEP 4: The insurer, or the underwriter, will most probably carry out a verification / investigation to satisfy themselves of the legitimacy of your claim. This exercise can take between one to four weeks. They might also ask you to provide certain documents, e.g., a police report or a medical report from the city/country you visited where the untoward event happened.
STEP 5: Once the insurer / underwriter is satisfied of the legitimacy of your claim, they will send you a cheque or any other form of payment advice.
Finally, it must be said that there are some instances of payouts against claims failing to satisfy the insured person. In such case, do make a representation to the insurer. If that fails too satisfy you, and you are convinced you have a case, you can approach the Association of British Insurers (www.abi.org.uk) or the Financial Services Authority (www.fsa.gov.uk).

But if we let this year end without making some resolutions for next year, we\’ll have learned little. What is one to think about or do in light of financial setbacks, leadership failures, outright fraud and unscrupulous business practices?
The Dean of Stanford University\’s Graduate School of Business, one of the nations leading institutions of business learning, was asked these very questions.
\”The old truths have not changed\”, he said, \”and have not been repealed by any notion of a new economy\”. He reiterated that the practice of attracting and retaining customers; charging a fair price that represents good value; attracting and retaining committed employees and continuing to earn the communities respect and support, is as necessary today as it has always been for any company to be successful.
What an enlightened view.
What he said in November 2002 is exactly what would have been said when I entered the business world some 45 years ago.
The old truths have not changed, for larger corporations or for small businesses. Each generation of entrepreneurs, while progressively advancing with new technology, new products and new ideas, must continue to do so within the fabric of the fundamental truths outlined above.
There is no new economy, no new ethics, no new morality, and no new finance. Those who suggest otherwise are the same ones who led us into the Silicon Valley debacle and the ruinous collapse of the energy trading business and the fraudulent financing disasters.
But let us not think for a minute that these excesses are unique to the largest businesses, for they are not. Many small businesses experienced the same failure of business ethics and financial fraud as the larger corporations that made the front pages across the nation.
So what is the entrepreneur to do? You must integrate all the new ideas with the historic truths of business. You must recognize that business is more competitive, highly challenging, faster paced and requires more data to come to the best business decisions, but never at the expense of ignoring the basics of good business practices. You must adapt to this challenging business environment while preserving the old truths
Now is the time to step up, to assume leadership. To outwardly and publicly state that, in addition to being appalled by the excesses, you are going to do more than merely complain. Broach the subject at your association meetings, the Rotary or whatever service club you belong to or wherever a forum takes place. Let us not sit by benignly angered but quiet. State openly to your customers, your suppliers, your competitors and political groups in your area, that you are angry and are going to do something about it.
Restate your belief in the basic facts of business stated above and announce that those are the basis of your business practices. The entrepreneur today, regardless of his business, his size or his experience, must exercise leadership for the best results.
Today is not the time to dwell on the unfortunate actions of the past year but rather to revisit the fundamentals of the more distant past: the marketplace sets the price, customers have choices, a man\’s word is his bond, hard work wins out, be competitive, strive for good quality, honesty and integrity are important concepts. All of these ideas have been around a long time and none are obsolete. Next year, starting now, rededicate your business to these basic truths of the past. And the future will be a better 2003. \r December 2002

The most expensive aspect in this hobby is the wine making equipment. Most of the wine making equipment is readily available and can be reused except for corks. One must remember, however, to purchase and use only food grade equipment. Non-food grade materials can be dangerous as toxic chemicals might seep into the wine during the fermentation process.
Here is a rundown of the most basic wine making equipment. First, one must have a carboy. A carboy is just a glass jug. They come in one gallon to six gallon sizes.
Bungs are also essential wine making equipment. They are rubber stoppers with holes drilled in the middle. The holes are where airlocks are attached. Bungs come in various sizes and are fitted into the mouth of the carboy.
Also, there are airlocks that prevent oxidation. Oxidation breaks down the wine due to over exposure to oxygen. Airlocks prevent this by creating a valve that keeps the air from entering the carboy while keeping carbon dioxide inside.
A hydrometer tube is another important wine making equipment. This piece of equipment looks like a 12 inch thermometer with a piece of paper stuck inside with numbers printed on it. This is used to measure the amount of sugar before, during and after the fermentation.
A wine thief is also an important piece of wine making equipment. It is a tube made out of glass or plastic with holes at the end. It is used to take out small amounts of wine from a container. To use it, the person simply dips it into the wine and covers one hole with the thumb. When he extracts the tube, the air vacuum holds the wine in the tube until the thumb is taken off the hole.
A food grade bucket is also needed for wine making. Large quantities of wine can be poured in the bucket. A three or five gallon bucket is an excellent choice. Also, fermenting the wine can create a lot of foam. It would be good to have a bucket large enough to hold the wine and the foam.
Lastly, the winemaker would need a food grade hose that is used for racking. Racking is transferring wine from one container to another. This is done by siphoning the wine via the food grade hose.
All these wine making equipment are available in wine stores. If not, they can be ordered through the internet.

White Water Kayaking is a sport not for the faint hearted. Certainly, in the beginning when learning this form of kayaking you can keep to gently moving waters. But as your skills improve, you can then take on much more demand and dangerous areas of the river instead.
All places where white water kayaking will be graded and the higher the grade the much more difficult the trip will be. Gently moving water will be provided with a Grade or Class 1 classification but the more severe white water that is considered to be almost unrunnable has a Grade or Class 6 classification.
As well as the classification of the rivers that kayaking takes place on there are actually categories relating to different types of white water kayaking. These are known as river running, creeking, slalom, play boating and squirt boating. Each one of these not only needs a certain set of skills but a different type of white water kayak will be used also.
With river running these are very gentle trips where one can enjoy the scenery that you pass but still enjoy some of the excitement that white water brings. As for creeking this is very similar to river running but you will need more experience to be able to cope with the rapids as these are of a much higher grade.
As for white water slalom, kayaking this is something that we normally see on television and which is an event in the Olympics. Here kayakers compete against each other through a set of gates on a designated section of river in the quickest time. Whilst play boating and squirt boating are a form of freestyle kayaking where special moves need to be undertaken in order to gain points.
