A Family Love
Jon Barry was sitting inside a studio during the NBA finals series while his brother was playing for the Spurs. They do not look like they relate to one another but they do. Not too long ago, Jon Barry also played in the NBA with his brother Brent. Now, why is this? Do brothers ever agree on anything in life? Well, it is the love of basketball, then, it is possible. Families that grow up, usually do some things together. Two members of a family can learn and help one another to achieve something that is hard to do.
Like brother and brother, there are also some son and father combinations in the NBA. Some father and son relations include Patrick and Daniel Ewing. Patrick was the star of the New York Knicks while his son plays for the Clippers. In this case, the father probably instilled inspiration and helped his son achieve a similar goal. Sons like to take after their father especially if their father has done something unique and different. Even Michael Jordans kids want to be in the NBA as well.
There are similar relationships such as Karl Malone and his daughter. His daughter was a member of the Detroit Shock, a team that won the WNBA title. He probably helped teach his daughter fundamentals and watched her grow as a person and player. When you have succeeded in doing something that is good, you want to help others achieve it too. This is why there are common relationships, there is a common goal. Even Vince Carter has a specific relationship to Tracy McGrady. They are cousins!
There is also at times extreme competition. Sometimes people who know one another may want to do anything in their power to be as good or even better than their peer. This helps when someone understands what it takes to do so. Basketball doesnt end with one person, it only spreads outward.
