Hosting A Wine Tasting Party

A wine tasting party can be the best way to spend time with your near and dear ones. You not only enjoy the presence of your dear ones, but also get to sip and discuss the variety of wines. A wine tasting party is not a new concept to Aussies who love to spare time for wine tasting. Hosting a wine tasting party could be lot of fun and also add to your knowledge of varieties. A large number of Australians are wine enthusiasts and love to be spotted at the wine tasting parties.

If you are playing host for a wine tasting party you can start your preparations by making a list of invitees. Also decide a theme, where you can choose a wine that is made out from the same quality grapes but from different regions. You can ask each one to come with a bottle of different wines. This will reduce your burden of going to the shop and fetching all the bottles. You can also choose to taste white, red, and sparkling wine along with some delicious snacks. Organizing a wine tasting party on a lawn or a garden is always a good idea. You can also choose some other quite place to enjoy each sip.

At any party a host plays an important role and hence you should know how and when to serve. As a host you must remember that wine is served in the perfect wine glass. If you are a wine lover and a regular visitor at wine tasting parties, you are sure to have noticed this. Sparkling wine is always a good starter as it awakens the taste buds letting you enjoy each sip to the fullest. As a host, take care that you serve the lighter wine first and then move on to the heavy wine so that no one misses out on the taste of each wine.

If you are serving a white wine make sure you use a small slightly curved glass. Large bowl shaped glasses are generally meant for red wine. When you serve white wine, be sure that it is chilled. You can refrigerate the open bottle for at least one or two hours. However, red wine can be served at room temperature. Always serve one and a half ounces in each glass. If you taste a variety of wines you ought to leave a 15-minute gap and munch on snacks that are less salty, then move on to the next wine. This will help to clean the palate before you and your friends start to enjoy another wine.

Kicking off a wine tasting party with an open discussion on wine is a great idea. Most wine lovers are eager to gather information on different wines that originate from various countries. You can judge the wine on various factors such as its sweetness or dryness. As you taste each wine you could note down its characteristics. It is not possible that each one will have the same opinion about each wine. As your taste buds vary so will your opinions. So simply grab that glass of wine and tickle your taste buds.
