Marc Jacobs - The Handbags and the Company Collection, 2008
Marc Jacobs is one of the most famous designers in the fashion industry and is well known for his line of luxury handbags. He went to Parsons School of Design in New York and won several wards for his work. Jacobs won several awards in the late 80\'s when he worked with Perry Ellis. He later went to work for Louis Vuitton and became the fashion director of the company and is credited for there success with some famous styles that were created.
Marc Jacobs has since created his own line of handbags that have a very classic style of there own. They can be easily recognized all around the world as one of the top luxury line of handbags available. Marc Jacobs has several company owned boutiques around the world including Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taipei. The line can also be found in many major department stores from Neiman Marcus to Nordstroms.
In 2007 he used Michael Stipe of Rock band REM in his latest ad campaign. This is a great approach to marketing because it gets a lot of people talking about your company and your brand when you do something out of the norm. The future looks bright for Marc Jacobs as the designer handbag market remains red hot for 2008.
The New Collection for 2008 used some of the classic patchwork styles that the brand is known for. They have added some new styles to the line but still using the quilted look. They are also introducing new bold colors that may make a big splash in the coming year as well.
