Police - More Than A Just A Name
The Police brand has a broad selection of items including sunglasses, jewellery, watches, timepieces and fragrances. Most noteworthy of these items are the sunglasses as they marked the birth of the brand. This occurred when Police decided to recruit Hollywood favourite Antonio Banderas as their new ambassador for the brand. The heart-throbbing and well respected leading Hollywood actor joined the brand due to his bold personality, his strong passion with his work and his high level of status all of which are supposed to complement the brands own image.
Banderas himself came from Roman Catholic family and developed good values, especially from his father who was a policeman in the Guardia Civil, which in English means a military body of police. This was another reason why Banderos was such a good candidate for the Police brand.
The Police brand has also been associated with other leading Hollywood actors such as Bruce Willis and George Clooney who have both decided that they were going to keep the sun out their eyes with the Police sunglasses. David Beckham was another high profile superstar who similarly decided that the brand complemented his first class football.
Police are now a global brand and are active in many countries across the globe. They operate in Switzerland and Hong Kong and are one of the leading manufacturers for sunglasses, whilst also selling wristwatches and fashion jewellery. Amongst some of the wristwatches sold, black leather strap watches are becoming popular as many leading high street stores for example H Samuel are of the understanding that these will take off in the near future.
Whatever the future holds, the Police brand is one that will continue to grow if it maintains its reputation as one that stays in touch with the latest trends in society and high image status. Twenty years on, and Police is still growing strong.
